Mark's List Review of Galanga Restaurant

If you never had the urge to go to Wilton Manor’s own Galanga well you will now!  If you ever felt intimidated by the menu, I can give you some selections that will make you want to go back time and time again.  I literally, know people that eat there at least four times a week.

I had a flavorful Chicken Vegetable Soup, simple, clean, just salty enough for flavor and the vegetables were firm and at the right texture.  If they do not have it, if you like the Thai soup Tom Kha it’s only $5 and has Thai herbs, coconut milk, vegetable broth and was told it was spicy and good.  If vegetables are more your scene for an appetizer why not try the Edamame which is boiled fresh soy beans for only $5 that are lightly salted.

I was told about this Steak Salad, which is grilled New York Strip steak, lemon grass, lime juice, grape tomatoes, and a bed of spicy chili sauce for only $8.  I, personally, don’t like spicy and they made it mild for me and I wanted to lick the plate.  If you are in the mood for sushi and want a little bit of everything, they have the Roll Combination Plate which has half a California Roll, half Salmon Skin Roll, and half a Spicy Tuna Roll for only $12 and is freshly made by the Sushi Chefs of the restaurant.  If you don’t think you will like the Salmon Skin—change it out when ordering.  It apparently tastes exactly what it sounds it would taste like.  Another suggestion for the Main Course would be the Panang Curry Chicken, but with all the Curry dishes you have choices of meats and types of curry thereby giving you the creativity you want.  With Panang Curry Chicken it has a thickened curry sauce, herbs, coconut milk, Kaffir Limes, and ground peanuts all for $15 and is served in the largest single-serving bowl I’ve ever seen.

I would definitely say one of the best assets that Galanga has, besides the amazing ambiance and outside patio, would be the wait staff—they alone can make you want to come back week after week.
